Our farm is an award winning arable & poultry farm in a wonderful setting in the South Somerset countryside. Having started from a green field site, we have spent the last twenty years growing and diversifying into the business we currently run, although never ones to sit still, we will always have plans to change and grow.

We offer a diverse range of farming & business operations, all of which are intrinsically linked by the same ethos – respect for the environment and sustainable activity. The farm is host to various events throughout the year that aim to educate, entertain and enlighten guests. There really is something for everyone at Frogmary Green Farm and plenty that will provide some food for thought.

Nick Bragg, Frogmary Green Farm

Nick Bragg

After leaving Brymore agricultural college, Nick came home to the family farm in Ilminster and soon realised that the business was not big enough to support all the family. So he started his own contracting business before establishing a new farm (Frogmary Green Farm) on a green field site after his father retired and uncle passed away. Now, in business with his wife Claire, Frogmary Green Farm in South Somerset is a diverse farming business. Nick is always looking at ways to change and improve the farming businesses through the use of modern technology whilst still being mindful of the financial implications and any environmental impact.

Nick is a 2014 Sainsbury’s Soil Health Scholar studying “A new proposed cropping regime to build in a rotational strategy to minimise soil erosion and increase soil organic matter” Nick also sat as Somerset NFU chairman (2013-2015) and Ilminster branch NFU chairman (2013-2016)

Claire Bragg

Claire plays a huge roll in the business dealing with all the accounts, administration, over seeing the management of the Cookery School and the organisation of visits, especially the school visits. Since 2004 we have opened our gates to schools and the public on a regular basis with 9,400 visitors to date. This year we have succeeded with a long term aim of partnering with Public Health to provide a purpose built outdoor classroom with growing areas – all very exciting.

In 2013 Claire was awarded a Nuffield Scholarship studying “How does the broiler industry need to change to feed an increasing population” this saw Claire travel to France, Holland, Australia, New Zealand, America and Canada. Claire also sits on the National NFU Poultry Board, Somersets CLA Committee and is a parish councilor for South Petherton.
