Great British Beef Week Charity Supper 2018
Last month we hosted the Great British Beef Week Charity Supper in aid of the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution, a charity that we have supported for many years. Over 100 guests attended the supper and enjoyed a delicious roast beef meal. A huge thank-you to J Wakely & Sons and Bonners of Ilminster for donating the fabulous beef, which was cooked to perfection by our very own Susie Parry-Jones.
A special thank you to our speakers on the evening, R.A.B.I Chairman Malcolm Thomas and Jilly Greed and Minette Batters of Ladies in Beef, all of whom spoke about the importance of supporting the farming community, in every way we can, to ensure the future of farming for generations to come.
We were delighted to be able to present a cheque for the grand total of £5,750 to R.A.B.I this week. Without the support of all our sponsors, guests, suppliers, staff and friends, the Charity Supper wouldn’t be able to raise this fantastic amount of money for such a worthy cause.
I was hugely honoured to receive a fundraising award from R.A.B.I. Many thanks to Pam Willis, R.A.B.I Regional Manager, for nominating me. As Pam said about the Charity Supper, ‘It’s events like this that put the ‘fun’ into fundraising!’ and we had a wonderful evening. We look forward to inviting you all back again next year.
Ladies in Beef, the driving force behind Great British Beef Week, is a group of more than 150 female beef farmers who care passionately about what they do. If you would like to learn more about Ladies in Beef, keep reading here >
